2024 Kuzel Farm Commission

This piece was a commission for my Mom of her childhood farmstead. She said as a little girl riding the school bus, she was so proud to pull up to the farm with the big blue barn roof. After many years of use, the barn is now in need of repair, so she wanted to capture the memory of it in its full splendor. She also recalled the many years that wheat fields were planted on the property, so a sunrise late summer scene was the inspiration for the piece.

With sunrises like ours in Richland County, it's easy to understand why they call this time of day the "Golden Hour."
